Although we represent clients in many states and throughout the world, the attorneys at Carpenter & Lewis PLLC are generally licensed to practice law only in the State of Tennessee and this website is directed toward Tennessee residents, althought one attorney is also licensed in the Commonweath of Virginia.  We may appear in other state courts under certain circumstances.    We may practice tax law internationally.  Nonetheless, your ability to access this website in another jurisdiction does not constitute the practice of law outside of the State of Tennessee and it is not a representation that attorneys in our firm are licensed to practice in any other jurisdictions.

Unless noted in individual biographies, Carpenter & Lewis PLLC’s attorneys are not certified as Civil Trial, Criminal Trial, Business Bankruptcy, Consumer Bankruptcy, Creditors Rights, Medical Malpractice, Accounting Malpractice, Elder Law or Estate Planning (or any other available certification) specialists by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization.

Certification as a Specialist is not currently available in Tennessee in some of our primary practice areas, such as Small Business Organizations, Taxation, Corporate, Employment, Real Estate, Asset Protection, and Nonprofit Organizations.
